Seven page transcript made by Tom Lester, 2013, of notes made by Sarah Mason on a ‘grand tour’ of the south of France and Italy from March 4th to April 25th 1885, accompanied by Mrs Ruth Shipman and her son John.
The transcript is prefaced by a short analytical introductory note by Tom Lester.
The notes give meticulous detail of every day of the tour. The original notes are written in pencil in a small notebook and are apparently difficult to read. As a result, the transcript is incomplete.
