Songs and poems about Girton and Cambridge, 1879 - 1881
Scope and Contents
Leather bound notebook (flyleaf inscribed ‘Sarah Ellen Mason, Girton College Cambridge Nov 1879’), into which Sarah Mason copied songs and poems about Girton and Cambridge life, usually including name of author and date and occasionally a note relating to publication.
The poems and songs date between 1872 and 1881 and are presumed to have been copied into the volume between 1879 and 1881.
Some items may have been copied in by S M's friend Charlie [Hannah] Lister (see diary entry for 8 December 1881 at GCPP Tebbutt 2/6). The songs and poems include:
