Personal Papers of Doris Bradshaw, 1929 - 1994
Scope and Contents
The papers listed here are a very small miscellany of personal and biographical items relating to Doris Bradshaw. They comprise the following:
1) Copy of the birth certificate of Doris Bradshaw dated 1929;
2) Card addressed to Miss D Bradshaw, Cambridge Training College, notifying her of her National Insurance number, 1943;
3) Oxford University certificate, dated 1944, of the admission of Doris Bradshaw, of St Anne's Society, to the degree of Master of Arts in 1930;
4) Cambridge University certificate of the title of the degree of Master of Arts conferred on Doris Bradshaw of Girton College, 1944;
5) Copy of the lettering for a memorial stone, probably installed at an unknown location in Bedfordshire, for Doris Frances Bradshaw, died 21 August 1994, and her sister Margaret Mabel Bradshaw, died 23 August 1994.

Biographical / Historical
Doris Bradshaw was born in Bedfordshire, the daughter of William Andrew Bradshaw, timber merchant's clerk, and Frances Rebecca Hill. She was awarded an MA by the University of Oxford in 1930. As a Lecturer and Tutor in Modern Languages at the Cambridge Training College for Women, she was an Associate Member of the Girton College Roll; she was awarded the title of the degree of MA by the University of Cambridge in 1944.
