The Tower and Tower Wing ['New Wing'], 1887 - 1900
Scope and Contents
Shows a garden bench in the foreground. The mounted print has the caption: 'View of the College showing the Stanley Library and Gamble Wing with Tower and principal entrance. The latest extension, completed Sept. 1902, is a continuation to the right of the above'. The postcards are part of the "Valentines Series": one is unused; the other was used for a short message to an address in Sussex and is inscribed on the front ‘A memo of a Happy Day 15/4/04’.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The blank postcard was given by Isabel Burn (née Bennett, Girton 1953) in 2011. The postcard used for a message was bought in Exeter Quay Antiques and donated to the Archive in September 2019.
