The room was refurbished as part of the obedient ears room refurbishment. Six Girtonians of 1951, 1952 and 1953 (known as the obedient ears) raised money from their contemporaries and adopted the rooms in E corridor, Chapel Wing, as part of the adopt-a-room scheme.
