'Resident Maids in the early sixties', 2022
Scope and Contents
Two page email from Lesley Michell to the Archivist, sent 20 July 2022. In it she describes her appreciation of the work done by resident College staff which made College life enjoyable and carefree in the 1960s. She notes that, with hindsight, College life must have changed very much within a decade of this period. She mentions getting to know one of the college maids, with whom she had tea one afternoon. She also mentions a Mrs Jaggard, who cleaned her room. LM notes the College rooms she had in her three years. She also notes that she was a Chapel Warden. The file also contains a one page follow up email, sent 29 October 2022. This includes a photograph of the ground floor of Orchard Wing, taken while attending a recent reunion, and explanatory notes, to clarify where she believes the maid's room was.
