Contains 33 album leaves [these have now been numbered 1-68 including the flyleaf and the inside back cover]. The album contains b/w photographs of various sizes, and postcards (some colour), all pasted in or held in place by photograph corners.
They include photographs of Margaret Hughes’ primary and secondary schooldays [Croydon High School]; family pets; tennis players; and photographs and postcards of places visited. Some items are captioned and some have keys to names.
The album includes include the following:
Page 24: ‘Me Summer 1950’ comprising three snaps of Margaret;
Pages 58 and 64 show Emmanuel College Men’s rowing eights (a formal group and a crew on the river respectively), 1954;
Pages 27-31 comprise photographs and postcards of tennis players, including Miss K E Stammers and Miss B Nuthall on p. 27; a signed photograph of Henry Mottram on page 29; and E W Sturgess and Mrs E W A Bostock on page 31.
