Mr Betty's bill on Mr Sharpe of Oundle who retained him to enter a caveat against a church-rate, Feb. 6th 1720/1., 1724-08-08
Scope and Contents
Legal expenses between 4 May 1721 and 22 Oct. 1724, and of sums paid between 22 July 1721 and 3 April 1724.
At foot a note to Sharpe from Thomas Gilby: 'Above is Mr Betty bill for his extraordinary trouble and attendance as delivered to me by his brother; pray send me as soon as possible a copy of your account, that is a particular account of what money you have paid since the first commencement of the cause, because it is impossible to make out Mr Bettys bill without charging you with what perhaps you have already paid. Mr Betty is going to the bath and is desirous of settling the affair before he goes.'
