Scope and Contents
1. Kirkby's petition to the King alleging that John Gilman, Thomas Ansell, William Stanford, Thomas Wytton, Nicholas Anger, Robert Hutothe, William Hills, John Sheperd, William Lane, William Stewkyn, Richard Bawdryke and John Witton forcibly impounded the beasts and cattle of Kirkby in contravention of ancient grazing rights (4 sheets); 2. Answers of Gilman, Ansell, Stanford, Thomas and John Witton and Nicholas Anger, asserting, inter alia, that Kirkby overcharged the common with too many beasts (5 sheets); 3. A paper, apparently unrelated and used as a wrapper, relating to the exemption of Oxford and Cambridge colleges from payment of 15ths and tithes (Latin).
