Agreement with Sir Walter le Chaumberleng, Knight, for exchange of lands in Manegeden [Manuden]., 1280 - 1310
Scope and Contents
Sir Walter gives 2½ acres of profitable land and 3 acres and 3 roods of woodland and pasture which he had by gift of John del Ho and Richard his son; the Prior gives 6 acres and 1 rood of land, 2 acres of which lie in Doggethorn between land of Geoffrey de Stokmad and land of Sir Walter; 2 acres and 3 roods lie alongside the way from Purtewelle to Manuden church on the north side; one half acre lies at the head of the foresaid 3 acres and 3 roods ; and 1 acre lies in Le Bromfeld between land of the priory and land of Sir Walter and abuts on land of the priory (W) and land of Sir Walter (E). Sir Walter and his heirs to pay one root of ginger annually at Easter.
