Scope and Contents
The messuage, which was previously owned by William Gerard of Chesterton, lies between the land of Alexander's brother William and land of his uncle Thomas and extends from the highway to land of the said John. 5 and a half acres of the land lie in Chesterton field towards Cambridge; 6 and a half acres and one rood lie in Middlefield; five and half acres and 1 rood lie in Chesterton East Field; five and a half acres lie in the field towards Cambridge.
Of the five and a half acres in the field towards Cambridge, one acre on Huntingdon way lies between land of Master Robert son of Anger le Rus and land of the said John; and in the same furlong half an acre lies between land of Avicia Dunning and land of the said John and abuts on Huntingdon Way; half an acre lies at Histon Way between land of William le Wyne and land of Richard Hockele [Oakley] and abuts on Histon Way; half an acre liesat Beche Way between land of the said John and land of St John's Hospital and abuts on Beche Way; one acre also at Beche Way lies between land of Henry de Barton and land of Alexander's brother William and also abuts on Beche Way; a half acre in the same furlong lies next to land of Thomas Gerard and abuts on Beche Way; and another half acre in the same furlong is also next to the land of the said Thomas Gerard and also abuts on Beche Way; half an acre at Stonehill is next to land of William le ploughwright and abuts on Smalemade; a half acre in the same furlong is next to land of Henry de Barton and also abuts on Smalemade.
Of the 6 and a half acres and one rood in Middlefield, one acre is at Smalemade between land of John Andrew and land of the said John and abuts on the headland of William le Wyne; one and a half acres lie at Beche Way between land of John Andrew and land formerly of Robert le Frank and abut on Beche Way; one half acre at Histon Way is between lands of the said John on either side and abuts on the headland formerly of Richard Gerald; a half acre at Gret Way is between land of Roger Ampe and land of St John's Hospital and abuts on Gret Way; 3 roods lie in the same furlong next to land of William le Wyne and abut on Gret Wey; a half acre in the same furlong is next to land of John Carpenter and abuts on Gret Wey; one acre at Watergong is next to land of Robert Eadward and abuts on Knapetone Way; an acre in the same furlong is next to lanbd of the scholars of Merton and abuts on Knapetote Way.
Of the 5 and a half acres and one rood that lie in Chesterton East Field, one acre at Middleton [Milton] Way is between the Middleton highway and land of Walter Mercator and abuts on Knaptote Way and on land of Geoffrey at the end of the vill; one acre at Stanwell furlong is next to land formerly of Richard Hockele [Oakley]; one acre in the same fields is next to land of Robert Eadward and abuts on Middleton Way; another acre in the same fields is next to land of William le Wyne and abuts on Middleton Way; one acre on Fen Furlong is next to land of the said Prior of Barnwell and land of the said John Porthors; three roods in the same furlong are next to land of Geoffrey called Foth.
