On the dorse of membrane 1, the following deeds are transcribed:
1. S.d. (temp. Edward I):Grant: Sabin de Grantchester to Matilda, formerly wife of Thomas Hardy of Cantebr' and Thomas her son, of one rood of land in Grantchester fields between land of Roger Sabin his brother and that of the said Matilda and son. Gersuma: 3s 6d; dues for customary services one halfpenny annually at Michaelmas. Not to be assigned to a house of religious. Witnesses: Ralph de Barton; Ralph le Eyr; John Harnold; William le Bolour; William ate Ree; Tebald le Bolour; John Martin; Ambrose de Newnham; John son of Michael; Roger Scherekynd'; Henry de Chesterton; Robert de Shelford.
2. S.d. (temp Edward I):Grant: Nicholas son of William to Robert de Grantchester and John his brother of the homage and services of John Goldring; Roger le Hastere; Richard de London, chaplain; William Benedich; Walter Deth; Robert atte Ston; Geoffrey Knyvet; Hervey Pilat; Ralph Bernard; Thomas son of Albrede; John Harsent; John Savary; John son of Ralph Bernard, tenants in Grantchester and Cotes, with wards, reliefs, escheats, etc., to hold of the chief lords of the fee for customary services. Witnesses: William de Sengham; Robert Baroun; Gilbert his brother; Ambrose le Templeman, etc.
3. 10 Nov. 1273 (Vigil of St Martin, 1 Edward I): Grant, John Wombe to Robert de Grantchester and Anne his wife of the homage and service of John son and heir of Thomas le Bretoun for all lands held of him in Grantchester and Barton with all wards, reliefs, escheats, etc., in fee and heredity from the chief lords of the fee. Quitclaim on all lands which the said Robert and Anne held of him in the same place and in the domain and service of Lancastre de Berton [Barton Lancaster] aforesaid.
