Bond in £20 to the Master and Fellows of CCCC; co-sureties Richard Thurlow and John Kippes, husbandmen, 1577-05-24
Scope and Contents
The conditions of the bond are that Alice/Ales, occupier of the house and land and £4 stock of Robert Collett, son and heir of Robert Collett, £8 stock of John Collett, brother of Robert and £4 stock of Annas Collett their sister, is to 1: pay £10 to Robert on his reaching the age of 21, to be imparted to his siblings on their coming of age at the discretion of the Master and Fellows; 2: deliver to Annas Houche (or Hutche), wife of Robert Houche 3 and a half bushels of apples from her orchard during the lifetime of Annas and the minority of Robert Collett; 3: bring up and set to school Robert and John until they shall be well able to write and read English; 4: make no waste, maintain buildings (for which she may make use of the £10 destined for Robert.
Witnesses: Henry Yeems and John Thaxter, fellows, and John Wolsey, student of CCCC.
Memorandum incorporated that Richard Willoughby, Fellow, in the presence of Henry Clifford, parson, Frances Gunnell, Robert Huche, Richard Thurlow and John Kippes surveyed the houses in question, with list of repairs necessary.
