Scope and Contents

The tenements lie between a tenement commonly known as the Black Bull, once the property of Richard Clarke, alderman, now in the occupation of Thomas Scott, baker (S), and a lane called Notes lane alias Pluttislane (N) and abuts (E) on the high street.
Headed in another script: Exemplar carte venditionis horum tenementorum script: manu ipsius J. Mere. And, in this same script, at the bottom, a memorandum that Mere sold the tenement called 'le Wight Horse', reserving the other two tenements, to Thomas Scott, baker for a total of £95 2d, with notes of payment instalments
