Counterpart of lease to Richard Brockton and Margaret his wife of a tenement for 30 years at an annual rent of 5s., 1427-07-12
Scope and Contents
The tenement lies between a tenement of Richard Bush, once of Robert Constable (N) and a tenement of Simon Bentybow, once of Henry Bungay (S) and abuts (E) on a tenement once Richard Hinton's and on a tenement held on a college lease.
Witnesses: John Greenlane, mayor; Richard Sexton, junior; Robert Attlebridge; Roger Kychche; John Lister, junior, bailiffs.
Marginal notes in a later hand state that what is called a tenement in this document is called a garden in another indenture [see next], and that the indenture appears to have been returned before the term of the lease was completed. Note on dorse that the abutment was made against the Master of Jesus who disputed Corpus's ownership of a tenement between tenements of Osborne (S) and of Corpus (N) with its east head abutting on the high street. Further note on dorse: Iam pacificatur per Landum 1552.
