Scope and Contents
The land comprises a fourth part of Roger's demesne of Eltisley with the homage and service of Warin Banstr' for half a . . . of land in the same vill. Also: one virgate of land in demsne, viz. one 'quarter' held by Richard de Grene, another held by Margery, widow, another held by Thomas de la . . . ; another held by Robert de Papworth, and one messuage held by Robert le Beggere and 5 acres of land . . . And a third part of woodland, named Le Ermitequarter and Le Brade/Brendequarter; all to be held by the 7th part of the service of a knight's fee. If Argentelina predeceases William he may hold the land by the same service for life. In return Roger to receive the homage and service of Henry son of Stori for a half virgate of land and of William Banastre for a quarter and 3 acres and one bay palfrey worth 20 shillings.
