Scope and Contents

The agreement is for conveyance of a messuage and lands to St Catharine’s Hall, with reversion to Corpus Christi College should St Catharine’s Hall fail in the trust: a messuage (Mere's House), previously John Canterbury’s, in the parish of St Benedict, between the Black Bull on the south, Nutterslane [Notes Lane], alias, Plutteslane [Plotes Lane], and a garden and kitchen previously Thomas Fordham’s on the north; also 28 acres and a rood of arable lying in the fields of Coton, Cambridge, Burgh (Burrough Green) and Dullingham (18 acres in Burgh, 6 diversely in the fields of Burgh and Dullingham, previously Walter Hakeworth alias Walter Sergeaunt’s, and the remaining 13 acres and a rood in the fields of Coton and Cambridge, previously - Clive’s, in return for daily masses for the souls of William and Kateryn Miles.
Dorse: Md the Indenture remayning in Katheryn hal beryng this very date & conteyning the self same mater word for word hauyng only the seale of katheryn myles Joyned therto agreeth not in the parchement nor in the heede indented: although thei be both of one hand / Quid hoc sibi velit Inquiratur a Legis perito si ita res exigat.
