Letter to the college confiming the nomination by the Master of Eastbridge Hospital of Samuel Wiburne, 1587-09-25
Scope and Contents
On the dorse notes by Robert Norgate, Master, relating chapter acts on 6 Oct. 1587, viz:
his pronouncing void the scholarships of Greenwood, Bromridge [Brownrigg] and Daynes, and a note to remind himself to 'move the fellows for respite to Mr Parker to nominate his Canter[bury] scholar';
Note of chapter matters, also 6 October, attended by Messrs Abbis, Baat [Bate], Hickman, Ruse, Broome, Parker, Dawson, Settle, Elvin and Tilman, with decisions, some Fellows dissenting, about the allotment of scholarships; the allowance to Broome of the stipend of a preacher and the appointment of Settle to read the Topic lecture in the place of Mr Tuck who is absent.
