Letter to Richard Love: that the King will press no further in the matter of the fellowship for Norton, 1635-12-28
Scope and Contents
Holland had presented the petition, but not Love's Latin letter.
In the manner of a postscript Lucas reports that [Isaac] Dorislaus [Greville lecturer on history in Cambridge from 1627] is seeking a mandate for a fellowship at Trinity: 'upon the first propounding of it I could hardly digest soe many breaches as this would work in that College's statutes. But the man is full of worth, and therefore I pray tell me what you think of it. Though I incline rather to procure the sae favour in some other howse: but he is not contented.'
