Letter to Richard Love, 1643-02-06
Scope and Contents
He writes of [William] Barker, admitted as a Bacon scholar [10 Feb. 1643].
'The youth, as I have been certainly informed was a scholar in Botesdale School, both in Mr Eston his time, and the time of Mr Neave late schoolmaster there, who was removed because I found the scholars did not perfect and so the school decayed. After his departure upon commendation I put in one Dr Browne, who though he be a good scholar, yet is very improper to keep a grammar school, so that he shortly removes also. . .'
