Quadripartite agreement for Parker benefactions and repetition and enlargement of distribution of improved rent of Landbeach., 1572-01-01
Scope and Contents
For £100 received from Parker the Master and Fellows of CCCC bind themselves to the other parties to pay £5 per annum for (1) £4 a year for a fire in the hall at dinner and supper time between 1 November and 2 February when no other allowance is made at 6d a fire, (2) 13s 4d for increase of diet and pittance at the annual library audit on or around 6 August, and 3s 4d each to the auditors from Gonville and Caius and Trinity Hall.
Landbeach payments largely as in 23 but the students founded by Parker at Gonville and Caius and Trinity are to have 12d each with 20d allowance for them and the 17 scholars 'of the new foundation' for increase of pittance. The two Norwich Fellows are to have 3 pupils apiece and no more (viz. the five Norwich scholars and John Meres' scholar); the 9th and 10th Fellows are to have no more than 2 pupils apiece. For the rest of the fellows, 2, at the Master's discretion, shall have 2 pupils each, the rest one each.
For £60 13s 4d received by Gonville and Caius and by Trinity Hall from Matthew Parker, each is to support a student at £3 8d a year, the one a student of physic to be chosen from Canterbury School, the other a student of law from Norwich school.
