Scope and Contents
Quarterly accounts for MAs and others no longer in statu pupillari. A useful source for places of residence.
Accounts for sums expended by and received from individual M.A.s, with records of cash transfers between the Tutor (T. Shelford from 1822 to 1832) to the Bursar (T. Shelford from 1828 to 1832) (pp. 269-75). The the end of the volume are summary accounts of the Tutor, on account of pupils, with sundry tradesmen, surgeons, etc., viz. George Wicks, college cook; [William] Miller for letters and shoe-blaciking, etc.; W. Cory, groicer; Messrs Deighton, Stevenson and Newby (separately), booksellers; Messrs Fuller and Armstrong (do.), braziers; Messrs Bishop and Newell (do.), tailors; Mr Simpson Swan, shoemaker; Mr Bays, hatter; Mr Gibson;' Mr Greef, glazier; Mr Goode, painter; Messrs E. M. Smith and W. Metcalfe (separately) upholsterers; Messrs Okes, Abbott, Ficklin, Catty and Wentworth, surgeons; Mr John Swan, unholsterer; Mr Hankin; Mr Headley, surgeon; Messrs Farish and Fawcett, surgeons; Mr Deck, apothecary and druggist; Mr Warwicker, hosier; Messrs Peters and Law, tailors; Bentley, shoemaker; and Hall, stationer.
