Manor of Queenbury with Mulford (Mutford), Darcels and Turks., 1515 - 1933

 File
Reference Code: GBR/1936/THAR/8/3/1

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

Many of the properties Trinity Hall owned in Hertfordshire were in the same area and were often leased to the same individual at the same time. In particular it is worth noting that the division between these individual properties can be very blurred, particularly documents relating to Quinbury Farm, Mutfords Farm, the Manor of Mutfords and the Manor of Queenbury with Mulford (Mutford), Darcels and Turks.

Dates

  • Creation: 1515 - 1933

Biographical / Historical

It is important to note that the Manor of Queenbury and the Manor of Mutford were two distinct manors but the Court books surviving in the College archives relate to the Manor of Queenbury with Mutford, Darcells and Turks. It is possible that it was seen as sensible to hold one manor court for both manors, particularly as from the 16th century Trinity Hall owned both Manors.
