Biographical / Historical
The Cambridge Instrument Company first started making electro-cardiographs in 1911 based on Einthoven's 'string' galvanometer design of 1903-4. In 1929 they made their first 'portable' instrument and this continued in production until the 1094's. It was a 'miniaturised' version of the earlier instrument and continued to use the Einthoven string galvanometer system.
