This 'suitcase portable' was first manufactured in 1944. Despite competition from companies making use of electronic techniques the Company persisted with the Einhoven design, making it still more compact. The Unipolar Lead Switch was introduced for use with these instruments as an aid to the diagnosis of special heart conditions.
