Biographical / Historical
Some years ago upon the death of her aunt Jean in Glasgow my wife Maureen saved an old autograph book, some old letters and a couple of small booklets from among the few possessions that were left from Jean’s estate. The autograph book is an interesting historical record in itself since it belonged to a Sister Strang who served at the 1st Eastern General Hospital, Cambridge probably between 1916 and 1918 and kept a autograph book which contains over 150 entries provided by the wounded soldiers in her care who came from the battlefields of Europe during the First World War.
