Biographical / Historical

Following the BAFTA winning 'Between Life and Death' which documented the work of our NCCU, the PR and communications team is pleased to say it has secured another high-profile BBC documentary. This time the BBC will be highlighting the central part our hospital plays in the East of England Major Trauma Network.

A series of three programmes will showcase the best work of our Major Trauma Centre (MTC) and other clinical areas within the hospital whose skills combine to save the lives of seriously injured patients. Life Savers the working title for the programme will follow patients from the roadside to rehabilitation. The aim of this documentary is for the excellence of CUH to come through every aspect of the filming.

The project has been over a year in development and has the support of the MTC team and the board of directors. The documentary has already been scheduled for 9pm on BBC One - the most sought-after slot for documentary television. Filming is due to start in September. (From Connect 17 Aug 2012) Filming started in Oct 2013. Documentary shown on BBC 1 at 9pm on Thus 13 and 20 Jun and Tues 25 Jun 2013.
