Further information from label in album: Plant is loaded into upper six vats covered with water and allowed to steep for 12 hours. The liquor from 'steeping vats' is then run off into six lower beating vats where steam and air are blown in and teh indigo blue separates out and is filtered off, drained and pressed into cakes which are cut into cubes and air dried.
