Note on accompanying paper (originally attached) reads 'This Cast was taken from a Copper gilded Medal found in the Ruins of Howley Hall near Batley in the year 1838. The Medal was struck in honor [sic] of Julius Caesar DIVI IVLI To the divine Julius'.
