Medical papers and manuscripts, 1840 - 1860
Scope and Contents
Large folder of original drawings, printed versions and mss. notes and text for published work by Fisher, and drawings and descriptions of dissections / post mortems examinations:
Printed colour plates of anatomical diagrams [by J L Bailey, B Meyer and different lithographers]; hand painted or sketched diagrams of, for example, a sheep's lung, spleen etc and of organs/ parts from patients with notes of cases; emphasis on tuberculosis notes with mss notes to figures; definitions of natural sciences; notes in labelled covers eg, Anatomical and Physiological, Spinal system. There are also various drawings and printed engravings of various bodily deformities and abnormalities. Handwritten notes possibly lecture notes. Includes a copy of Harraden's engraving of Wilkins' proposed Propylaea entrance to the College.

Conditions Governing Access
Some records series are subject to confidentiality restrictions with the following closure periods: 30 years from date of creation for general administration files, legal records and financial files; 50 years from date of creation for governmental records, including papers of the College Governing Body and College Council, and constituent committees; 100 years from date of creation for personal and personnel records, including tutorial files, staff and fellows files and appointment records, personal finance and pension records. In addition sensitive correspondence and papers concerning College affairs such as disputes and disciplinary matters are closed for 100 years. Restrictions apply on some personal and private papers.

The papers have been retained in the order they were in on transfer.
Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Fragile. At some point these papers have been subjected to damp conditions and show evidence of mould damage. They need to be handled with care. A few sheets, found separately had been conserved prior to transfer to Archives.

General
Some beautifully coloured drawings, and some drawings with morbid curiosity value.
