Biographical / Historical

Peter Coveney matriculated at Downing as a scholar in Oct 1942, graduating with a first class degree in History. After leaving Downing, Coveney became History Master and House Tutor at Dulwich College until 1949, when he became Deputy Warden and Research Fellow at Hulme Hall, Manchester University. He was Warden at Needler Hall and Lecturer in History, University of Hull from 1953 to 1962, when he became Senior Lecturer in European History and Warden at Lincoln Hall at the University of Nottingham.
