MORTGAGE [LEASE and RELEASE] for £145 of messuage with maulthouse, pightle, curtilage, garden and reed fenn, plus appurtenances, in p. All Saints, Dunwich, between pightle and reed fenn late Thomas Hempster's on part of east, pightle and reed fenn late Nicholas Chapman's on west, one head abutting upon kings highway to south, and other head abutting hospital lands of St James to north; and also one piece of land and marsh inclosed with appurtenances in Dunwich, of c. 1 acre, lying between said premises on east and meadows and marsh of said hospital on west, abutting upon Spittle Inch to north and kings highway to south; and also three pieces of arable land plus appurtenances lying in Dunwich, late in occupation of Robert Swatman: first piece commonly called Little Seafield, lying between the sea cliff on east, lands called Town Hills on west and abutting land called St Nicholas' Churchyard towards north and upon lands of Richard Friend towards south, containing c. 2 acres; second piece called Midle Seafield or Batts Close, lying between sea cliff on east, lands of Robert Rixe in part and common of Dunwich in part on west, abutting upon the Longe Hills or Full Ditches in part and upon said common to north, and upon the third piece to south, containing c. 14 acres; the third piece called Arnold's or Further Seafield, lying between sea cliff on east, lands of Robert Rixe in part and common in part to west, abutting second piece and lands of said Robert Rixe towards north, and upon great common of Dunwich to south, containing c. 16 acres; and also the moiety of Alice of and into 7 tenements or cottages and 9 acres of land, in Dunwich, now or late in the occupations of Alice Beart, John Benefice, Thomas Stansey, John Butcher and Richard Taverson; and also all and singular other freehold and charterhold messuages, lands, tenements, meadows, pasture and hereditaments with all rights and appurtenances belonging to 1. in Dunwich, Henham, Wenhaston, Farneham, Benhall [Benhall Green] or elsewhere in Suffolk.
