Biographical / Historical
The preliminary proposals for additions to Downing College - new entrance block, north range and smaller court - by Sir Herbert Baker were not carried out at the time, apart from the two [or four?] blocks lining up with the east and west ranges. When building went ahead after Baker's death, his partner amended the original proposals
