Biographical / Historical
The Messrs Forster etc were Francis Annesley's solicitors, and consequently became so for Downing College. The firm developed into Forster, Cooke & Frere, George Frere being a brother of William. The firm becomes Frere, Forster, Goodford & Cholmely, then Frere, Goodford & Cholmely. It is variously known or referred to as Frere & Co., Frere & Foster, Frere, Goodford & Co. etc]
