Biographical / Historical
After the buildings built by William Wilkins in the first quarter of the century, and apart from the Porter's Lodge, stables and garden walls, no further college building was possible until 1873. Then the architect Edward M Barry was asked to suggest definite plans for the new buildings. The east side of the court was completed according to Wilkins' design plus there were additions to the West Lodge and the Hall, and the termination of the west range.
