Biographical / Historical

Aston-Binns' 1898 obituary in the Alpine Journal details his final climbs (including Little Dru) before his death, with his guide Xaver Imseng, on the descent of a climb on 15 September 1898. Wherry also climbed the Aiguille du Dru in 1893 with two guides and his 'climbing friend', probably Aston-Binns.
