Scope and Contents
Includes three chapters: (1) describing life in Downing and Cambridge generally, including many Downing personalities (Clive Parry’s welcome to Freshers) and Poppy Day activities, Tiddlywinks Goons match and May Ball planning; (2) memories of visiting an elderly couple, Mr and Mrs Robinson, in Cambridge and the impact of this (and their happiness despite their poverty) on him and his outlook in life; (3) re trips to Greece, taken as a student and subsequently organised as a commercial venture by Hughes after leaving Downing.
