In view of the importance of completing the experimental "W" units as soon as possible a special organisation will be set up within the Turbine Factory: R. O. Knight to be directly responsible to Walter Smith, Superintendent of the Turbine Factory for overall control; H. Bentley [C. H. Bentley?] responsible to Knight for fitting and assembly and J. B. Scott responsible to Knight for progress of all parts, whether machined in the Turbine Factory or in contributory departments.
Copies of this letter to all superintendents with the request that every facility be given to Knight and his assistants. All instructions to pass through the Operation Planning and Ratefixing Department and the Turbine Factory Planning Section.
Victor E. Crompton, the visiting representative of Power Jets and the Aeronautical Inspection Directorate will contact Knight on production problems and P. S. Allison on inspection problems.
