Biography

Patrick Plunket (1752-1809), M.D, son of the Revd Thomas Plunket, was born in Co. Fermanagh, Ireland. He studied at Trinity College, Ireland, from 1769 to 1774, then in Edinburgh, taking the degree of M.D. in 1779. In 1782 Plunket was admitted a Licentiate and elected a Fellow of the College of Physicians. He was President of the College in 1768, 1793 and 1800, and in 1804 he was elected an Honorary Fellow.
