Biography

Gertrude Mary Somerville Caldwell (1912-1996) was educated at Berkhamsted School for Girls. She matriculated at Newnham College, Cambridge, in 1931, where she took the natural sciences tripos (M.B., B. Chir., 1937). She married John Charles Leedham-Green in 1939. Following clinical training in Birmingham, she was a G.P. at Southwold, 1946-1983.
