Ditchburn, Robert William, 1903-1987 (physicist)

Biography

Robert William Ditchburn (1903-1987), physicist, was born on 14 January 1903, and educated at Bootle Secondary School, Liverpool University and Trinity College, Cambridge. He was Professor of Natural and Experimental Philosophy, Dublin University, 1929-1946. He became Professor of Physics at Reading University in 1946, and Emeritus Professor in 1968. He was Fellow of Trinity College, Dublin, 1928-1946. He died on 8 April 1987.
