Miscellaneous letters, accounts, etc. (collected as paper specimens). Items from the dispersed archives of the Smyth family of Nibley, the Restoration banking house of Clayton & Morris, the printer and antiquary John Nichols, and a tranche of estate papers of the Antinori family of Florence (given to Hazen as deemed of no historical value, but due to its watermarks).

Scope and Contents Album of ca. 200 leaves, numbered as far as 170. Specimens are tipped onto the album leaves, starting with fol. 23 and ending with 155. The title page is inscribed in the hand of Bagford: 'A collection of specementes of thi variate of seviral sortes of paper: as from China Est India Persia Turkia Italia ffrance: Germany fflanders Holland and England bouth Antient and Moddern: about a hundred sevirall sortes'. Fol. 1r contains an incomplete alphabetical index also in Bagford's hand to various...
