Biography

Robert Chambers (1802-71), Scottish publisher, geologist, writer and journal editor, was founder and partner with his brother William in W. & R. Chambers Publishers. He explored the validity of spiritualist claims, and began attending séances and visiting mediums in the early 1850s.
