Biography
J.W. Cruickshank was the nephew and business manager of Amos Cruickshank (1808-1895), of Sittyton, Aberdeenshire, breeder of Scottish Shorthorns. Amos worked in partnership with his brother, Anthony, who kept his records and organised the advertising of his herds.

There is an index at the end of the volume. It is accompanied by a set of pedigree charts for different tribes of cattle.
