Biography
Francisco de Paula Martinez de la Rosa (1787-1862) was born at Granada, Spain, on 10 March 1787. He was Professor of Philosophy at the University of Granada, and later served in government, becoming prime minister in 1834. He wrote plays, including La conjuracion de Venecia, as well historical novels and political histories. He died at Madrid on 7 February 1862.
