Biography

Chester Perne (1701-1753) was born at Cocken Hatch, and educated at Eton. He entered St John's College, Cambridge, in 1717 (B.A., 1721; M.A., 1724), migrating to St Catharine's College in 1726. Perne was Proctor in the Vice Chancellor's Court, and served as J.P. for Cambridgeshire, and Sheriff of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. He died on 7 March 1753.
