Biography
Minnie Pate joined the Cambridge University Typewriting Office in 1892. The Office had been established in 1892 by Marian Marshall (c.1848-1901), a trade unionist and women's suffrage worker. In 1900 she sold the business to Minnie Pate. In October 1950 Minnie Pate became the first woman to become an honorary MA of Cambridge University. She left the Office in 1957, and died in or before 1963.
