Biography

John Ebenezer Foster (1847-1912) was born in Cambridge on 23 May 1847. He was educated in Amersham, before matriculating at Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1865 (B.A., 1869; M.A., 1872). After completing his studies Foster established a practise as a solicitor in the city. He was a Cambridge antiquary, and served as honorary secretary and editor of the Cambridge Antiquarian Society. He died in Cambridge on 27 October 1912.
