Biography
Henry Erskine Allon (1864-1897) was a composer. The son of Henry Allon (1919-1892), the Congregational minister and leader, he was born on 16 October 1864. Educated at Amersham Hall School, near Reading, at University College, London, and at Trinity College, Cambridge, he wrote chamber music, piano solos, and cantatas. He was a noted contributor to the New Musical Quarterly Review. Allon left his musical library to the Cambridge Union Society after his death from cerebral meningitis on 3 April 1897.
