Journal of a tour in Germany, 1786-1789
Also includes a memorandum of 'Places worth seeing in Mr. Skynner's Tour with my cousin in June 1783', 90 folios. According to a note by John Lee of Hartwell inside the front cover, the writer was Colonel Sir William Lee, and the cousin William Lee Antonie Esq. of Colworth, Bedfordshire. Pp. 89-180 are blank. Inside the front cover: 'Hartwell Library repaired May 1831', in the hand of J. Lee.
Notebook of regimental orders of Colonel Sir William Lee, written at Windsor, 1798-1799
A few additions in a second hand have been erased. Inside the front cover is a note by J. Lee on the manuscript, indicating that it was found at Hartwell in April 1831.
'Notes sur la Fortification', 1750
The text has marginal notes in the hand of Colonel Sir William Lee. Inside the front cover is the bookplate of John Lee and a note, 'Hartwell Library repaired 22 February 1839. No. 10/115. London. This manuscript was found at Hartwell amongst some old papers with No. 11/115 and the notes appear to be in the writing of Colonel Sir William Lee - and probably it was bought whilst he was with the army in Flanders - under his uncle's command.
